We had to eat while we were in Orlando, so Tuesday, we decided to try out Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse...
We started off with bruschetta...delicious...
Before we finished the bruschetta, our Delmonico Steaks arrived...11/2 pounds of tantalizing beef!!!
My boy Thaddeus was a little frightened for the first in Orlando...it seemed the steak was bigger than him!
But of course, he stepped up, demolished the steak, and ordered dessert...he had amaretto cheesecake and I had the tiramisu ...can you say EXQUISITE!
After we ate, we headed off to SPI's Block Party at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Citywalk in Orlando...
Your boys...ready to take over the world and rock out at the Hard Rock...
The place was poppin'...
Wednesday was the big day for SPI 2012...we had President Bill Clinton in the house!
Of course, your boys had to get suited up to represent that big bad Homeboy Industries...
Thaddeus was definitely ready for Big Willie!
And then...there he was, one of my favorite Presidents...and he was in the zone - - President Clinton opened by saying, “I love what you guys are doing.” He said the place is full of people in concentrated solar, distributed, young, old, democrats, republican, independents. “People who represent what I believe in.” He encouraged cooperation between government, the private sector and the non-government sector to solve our energy problems.
As always, the President was on his A-Game...he is truly a rock-star in the political arena, he delivers a strong, simple message, and he has incredible vision.
Here is a link on what President Clinton thinks about visibly-tattooed workers in the solar industry: President Clinton on tattooed solar workers
Overall, President Clinton inspired the crowd of over 5,000 that were in the hall with him, as well as a couple of overflow rooms that held another 10,000 SPI 2012 attendees that wanted to hear what the former
President had to say. On a personal note, I was brought to tears several times, not only because of the message that he delivered, but more importantly because I never, ever, dreamed that this would happen in my life. 25 years of drug-addiction, 22 years of active gang-banging, 13 years in the penitentiary...and now, here I was, listening to President Bill Clinton talk about the solar industry...in Orlando, Florida...INCREDIBLE!
