Last Days at SPI 2012

Our last couple of days at SPI were spent exploring new products, both in the Photovoltaic (solar-electrical) industry,as well as solar-thermal (solar water heating), a component that we are thinking about adding to the Solar Panel Training & Certification Program at Homeboy Industries...here as some of the pix we took during the last days of SPI 2012...

The solar panel system atop the Orange County Convention Center...

SolarCity...one of the top solar companies in California...

 American-made solar panels...

My boy Thaddeus with a solar-thermal panel...(I think that girl liked him)...

A small, but complete solar-thermal system...

Our friends from REC Solar were in the house...

The "magic boxes" a.k.a. inverters...this is the component that takes the D.C. produced by the solar panels and turns it into the A.C. that we can use in our homes and businesses...

 Flexible and thin modules...

Solar street lights...

An automated solar panel cleaner...yes, solar panels need baths...

I had to stop at the Mexico booth...que viva!

Yeah, my boy is a little screwy...

I always like the "mini" stuff...

My right hand man...always hard at work...

Or so I thought...

Good bye SPI 2012...

Next year...hopefully the windy city will play host, not only to SPI 2013, but also to the Solar team from Homeboy Industries...

Stay tuned for the rest of our adventures here in Orlando, SPI 2012 is over, but your boys have a day to kill...and we are headed to Disney World!  Check that out in the next installment of our blog...
